Adult ADHD on the Peninsula
On the Peninsula, ADHD is often easy to miss precisely because the person is doing well. Strong grades, a demanding job, or an impressive résumé can obscure how much structure and effort are holding everything together.
Achievement tells you what someone has accomplished. It does not tell you how expensive that performance has been.
When compensation stops working
The strain often becomes visible when responsibilities multiply: college without parental structure, graduate training, a promotion, parenthood, more meetings, more administrative work, or simply less room to recover from mistakes. The person may still look successful while feeling increasingly unable to keep pace with ordinary demands.
That does not prove ADHD. It is a reason to look carefully at the longer history.
