Adult ADHD in the East Bay

1 min read

Many adults seek ADHD care after realizing that the problem is not intelligence or effort. It is inconsistency. Complex work may be manageable while routine follow-through, planning, email, paperwork, transitions, and time estimation remain disproportionately difficult.

The pattern is often less “I cannot focus” and more “I cannot reliably direct focus where I need it.”

Diagnosis before optimization

ADHD is one explanation for that pattern, not the only one. Anxiety, depression, poor sleep, chronic stress, substance use, and medical problems can all affect concentration. A careful psychiatric evaluation looks at timing, developmental history, impairment, and what was present before the current stressor.

That distinction matters because treatment should follow the formulation—not the other way around.

East Bay access

Telehealth care is available across Alameda and Contra Costa counties, including Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda, Emeryville, San Leandro, Hayward, Fremont, Newark, Union City, Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore, Walnut Creek, Concord, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Richmond, El Cerrito, and nearby communities.

The location list is practical, not a claim of physical offices in each city. The practice is telehealth-based.
